Bulk Maple Syrup Grade A

It's important to note that maple syrup will be slightly different depending on when it was made. Golden maple syrup is from earlier in the season, when it still takes on a lighter colored appearance. To meet this standard, the syrup itself must be uniform. It must have the excellent flavor and odor that people clamor for, and it must be otherwise free from flaws. Grade A cannot have any cloudiness, turbidity, or sediment, for example.

Grade A is also divided into four distinct color classes, which include the following:

  • Golden
  • Amber
  • Dark
  • Very Dark

Maple Syrup is an Excellent Source of Sweetness

This syrup is used regularly in food products but is off-limits for retail sale. This is due to United States Standards for Grades of Maple Syrup. Retail sale is only available for a product meeting Grade A requirements. Suppose the syrup has a relatively good, characteristic maple taste but might contain traces of tainted flavor and is free of damage, turbidity, or cloudiness. In that case, it qualifies as Processing Grade. This syrup can only be sold in containers of 5 gallons/20 liters or larger. We sell bulk maple syrup in totes, drums, or pails.
